While the number of confirmed Coronavirus case and death toll are on the rise, more companies require their employees to work from home or remotely.
According to SAP Concur, there are three areas in which technology can help businesses keep their employee safe, no matter where they are located or how their travel was booked.
Locating employees
Companies need to ensure employee safety by knowing who is where at any given time, said SAP Concur.
A system that allows organisations to combine realtime data, HR profiles, location check-ins, travel management company, and employee travel management tool can help achieve this, the tech company added.
Proactive two-way Communication
Businesses can enable proactive two-way communication with an enterprise-use mobile app that allows them to automatically confirm messages are received and read, SAP Concur pointed out.
This not only allows proactive two-way communication when there is an epidemic but also when there are events such as natural disaster or terrorist attacks, the firm noted.
Get employees the Help they need
The tech company also advised businesses to work with partners or partners to their technology providers who can make sure that employees receive rapid global security information and appropriate medical, security and travel assistance as required.
The global death toll from the coronavirus outbreak hits 910 today, higher than during SARS, as the World Health Organization’s chief voiced concern over the spread of the disease from people with no travel history to China.
