Michael Polaha

As Senior Vice President of Finance Solutions and Technology, Michael Polaha is a member of the Executive Management Team and will have cross-functional impact at BlackLine.
Prior to BlackLine, Polaha had an equivalent title (Sr. VP/CFO) at Johnson & Johnson where he was responsible for the development and execution of the Digital Global Finance strategy on process, organization, technology, and master data.
He had product ownership and deployment responsibilities for a multitude of finance-enabling technologies including but not limited to SAP Central Finance, EPM technologies (Anaplan, TM1) and other capability-enabling technologies (BlackLine, Digital AI/RPA, SAP Enterprise Hana, etc.). He likewise had responsibility for a Finance technology competency center to support and continuously evolve the transformation roadmap.
Polaha has in-depth finance process knowledge, experience in implementing enabling technologies, and strengths in mobilizing and sustaining governance models to facilitate global design and sustain data, process, and product alignment.
He is skilled at executing finance transformation initiatives in complex organizational structures and in collecting, disseminating, and translating worldwide data into accurate, actionable information to guide business decision-making.
He takes a practical, pragmatic approach in determining interim state projects to add to the bottom-line while building strategic road maps to improve long-term financial position. He is a recognized thought leader and speaker on the topic of Finance Transformation and enabling technologies.
Polaha is a graduate of Lehigh University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and an MBA with a concentration in Accounting. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a Certified Cash Manager (CCM), and has earned the Project Manager Profession (PMP) designation.
