Airwallex has secured key regulatory approvals from Bank Negara Malaysia for the full commercial launch of its e-money issuing and Class A licences.
The expansion gives way to full local operations, allowing Malaysian businesses to manage and move money globally through Airwallex’s financial platform.
The approvals complement the company’s existing Class B Money Services Business licence and its Registered Merchant Acquirer status, as the move brings in strong business momentum in the market with over RM2 billion in remittance transaction volume processed in 2025, attributed to rising demand from Malaysian businesses operating across borders.
